Summary
The Assistant Manager, Product Development Costing supports the PD Costing team with a focus on design pricing and product costing, collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development to deliver accurate and timely cost management across product development and production.
Responsibilities
- Provide multifaceted costing for new product development balancing engineering, manufacturing, cost, and design requirements.
- Collaborate with Design and Merchandising to align costing strategies with design intent and retail targets.
- Oversee product resourcing and final cost reviews to ensure timely project progression.
- Maintain accurate post production costing and ensure margin integrity across product lines.
- Review and validate purchase order cost change requests and resolve vendor price discrepancies.
- Partner with PD Costing Director to review and negotiate show costs for market alignment.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Create and maintain costing charts and dashboards to support decision making and visibility.
- Update and maintain systems including PLM, Qiwk reports, Jira, and Oracle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to balance business needs design intent and cost efficiency.
- Critical thinking and problem solving with commitment to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of modern jewelry manufacturing techniques including precious metal metallurgy and investment casting.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to translate analysis into recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of InDesign Illustrator or Photoshop.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management and Oracle systems.
