Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to ensure a profitable store while maintaining brand standards and delivering an excellent customer experience. The role includes decision making in the GM's absence, driving talent development, executing store operations, and championing new selling technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning store initiatives
- Educate and coach team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in client development strategy and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy including recruitment, development and coaching
- Manage store processes including inventory control to meet shrink goals
- Drive use of new technology and selling techniques to improve results
- Provide feedback to leadership on high profit potential and category trends
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar high-volume specialty retail experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Ability to stand, walk, move for multiple hours and lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to operate register and perform stockroom duties
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and potential travel
- Strong planning, prioritization and business acumen
- Proven track record building positive customer and team relationships
