Assistant Manager - Short Hills

Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the Managing Director and Floor Director in running all aspects of the boutique to deliver exceptional client service and drive sales. This role includes supervising and coaching the sales team, developing client relationships via CRM, and stepping into leadership when senior managers are absent. The position requires strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate sales data into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, train, and assist staff to achieve sales objectives and model exceptional service on the sales floor.
• Identify sales opportunities by reviewing business performance by métier and tracking deliveries and special orders.
• Contribute to and conduct performance reviews and regular touch-base meetings with the team.
• Enforce CRM standards and follow up for associate compliance to maximize client capture and data quality.
• Manage scheduling, time and attendance records, and monitor staffing needs in coordination with HR.
• Organize seasonal trainings, support recruitment and interviewing, and make critical client and operational decisions in leadership absence.
• Maintain inventory, sales goals, and profitability within company parameters.

Requirements

• 4+ years of retail management experience; luxury retail experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Cegid, and E-time; ability to learn POS and payroll systems.
• Ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into business recommendations.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and flexibility in work availability.
• Ability to lift 0-25 lbs. without assistance.
