Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service for women's and men's shoes. This role recruits, trains and coaches the sales team, helps execute merchandising and inventory plans, and actively sells on the floor to meet productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train and develop department sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute a business plan for the department
• Coach salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Support accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with store and divisional leaders to maintain productive relationships

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results and productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to work in a commission-based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing relationships with managers and merchandisers
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Willingness to work in a retail store environment
