Job Description

Summary

The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead the store team, drive sales and client development, uphold visual merchandising and operational standards, and act as the senior leader in the Store Manager's absence. This role focuses on coaching, recruitment, staff development, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The assistant supports reporting, inventory processes, and cross functional collaboration to meet store objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve and exceed sales goals and store KPIs
  • Coach and develop sales associates on product knowledge, selling techniques, and clienteling
  • Oversee customer experience including fitting room service and POS execution
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of store staff
  • Open and close the store and complete all related operational procedures
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards and floor presentation are maintained
  • Manage merchandise movements, inventory counts, transfers, and receiving processes
  • Process and manage timekeeping and required daily and weekly reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years retail sales or related experience with at least 2 years supervisory responsibility
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and retail systems such as Teamwork
  • Proven ability to build and develop teams and drive results
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising and store operational standards
  • Local market knowledge and ability to develop client relationships
