Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager to create and execute strategic plans to ensure a profitable store while maintaining brand standards and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role acts as a key decision maker in the General Manager's absence and focuses on operational excellence, talent optimization and new ways of selling.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager with business trend analysis and strategic planning for the store
- Educate team on sales and profit performance tools and resources
- Create and uphold a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in client development strategy and lead community outreach in the market
- Execute talent strategy and collaborate to build and develop the store team
- Drive networking and recruitment activities within the store market
- Provide coaching feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Manage store processes including inventory control to meet shrink goals
- Champion new technology to support selling techniques and shopping options
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent considered a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Strong communication skills with customers and store personnel
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to operate register and work across sales floor stock dressing room cashwrap and office
- Flexible availability including days evenings weekends and occasional overnight shifts and travel
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Business acumen with strong planning prioritization and time management skills
