Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in developing and executing strategic plans to drive store profitability and maintain brand standards. This role acts as a key decision maker in the GM's absence, focuses on operational excellence, talent development, and delivering an elevated customer experience aligned to brand expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning store initiatives
- Educate and coach the team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand standards
- Assist in client development strategies and lead community outreach activities
- Execute talent strategy and participate in recruitment and networking
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback and learning opportunities to employees
- Manage store operations including inventory control and shrink goals
- Champion new selling technologies and omnichannel selling techniques
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent is a plus
- Retail management or similar high-volume specialty experience preferred
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive customer and team relationships
- Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
- Ability to operate register, stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and occasional travel
