Summary
The Beauty Counter Manager leads sales and service at an assigned beauty brand counter, delivering personalized makeup and skincare experiences while driving sales both in-store and digitally. This role balances selling, teaching, event coordination, and vendor relationship management to build customer loyalty and meet performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform makeup applications and skincare analyses and recommend products based on customer goals
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools including text and social media
- Manage scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results
- Handle sales transactions including refunds and exchanges and assist customers with Nordstrom Rewards enrollment
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment and collaborate with team members
- Maintain counter organization and cleanliness to keep department customer-ready
- Stay current on beauty trends and product knowledge through trainings
- Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends based on business needs
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty including makeup application and skincare
- Excellent ability to connect with customers and proactively handle customer concerns
- Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills
- Drive to achieve sales goals and interest in using networking and technology
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Capacity for continuous movement 6-8 hours per shift and frequent bending and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for fine manipulation and ability to lift items up to 25 pounds
- Experience in a commissioned sales environment preferred
