Summary
The Beauty Counter Manager leads sales and guest services for an assigned beauty brand within the Nordstrom Beauty Department, driving results through makeup application, skincare consultations, and digital and in-store selling. This role balances selling and teaching, manages vendor events, and maintains a customer-ready counter in a commission-driven environment. The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends and regular physical activity.
Responsibilities
- Perform makeup applications and skincare analyses and recommend products to meet customer beauty goals
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools including text and social media
- Manage scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize results
- Manage sales transactions, refunds, exchanges, and open new rewards accounts to build customer loyalty
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive customer environment
- Keep counter organized, clean, and customer-ready
- Stay current on beauty trends and product knowledge through trainings
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty including makeup application and skincare
- Excellent ability to connect with customers and proactively handle concerns
- Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills
- Drive to achieve sales goals and interest in networking and technology
- Flexible schedule availability including evenings and weekends
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Ability to stand and move continuously for 6-8 hours with frequent bending and reaching and lift up to 25 pounds
