Summary

This CAD Level 3 Designer creates intermediate-to-complex jewelry models in Rhino, translating design concepts into manufacturable CAD files with limited supervision. The role ensures functional mechanisms and stone settings are correctly modeled, supports design execution, and collaborates with CAD engineering and vendors to meet project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Create intermediate and complex jewelry pieces from concept to finished CAD with limited supervision.
• Model stone settings and set up files for mechanisms such as clasps, hinges, and linkages.
• Provide timeline estimates and translate design concepts into physical pieces within project schedules.
• Recommend CAD workflow techniques and improvements.
• Review vendor CAD files for visual viability and provide concise aesthetic feedback to partners.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of jewelry CAD experience, specifically with Rhino.
• Knowledge of complex jewelry construction and precious and non-precious metal properties.
• Proficient in creating solid polysurface files and modifying/repairing mesh objects.
• Working knowledge of mechanisms such as hinges and clasps; rapid prototyping experience a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Design with emphasis in 3-D Jewelry Design preferred or equivalent industry experience.
