Job Description

Summary

As COO, you’ll be the operational leader who builds the systems, teams, and processes that take our brand into its next chapter of growth. Reporting directly to the founders and CEO, you’ll ensure our operations match the strength of our brand: disciplined, scalable, and globally relevant - without ever losing our artistry, culture, or values.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Los Angeles-based production team, ensuring craftsmanship standards remain exceptional while improving throughput and efficiency
  • Collaborate with production leadership to optimize workflows, implement lean manufacturing principles, and reduce waste without compromising quality
  • Manage production capacity planning to align with sales forecasts, new product launches, and seasonal demand fluctuations
  • Oversee relationships with external manufacturing partners as needed, ensuring quality control, ethical sourcing, and timely delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within production, implementing metrics, training programs, and process documentation
Inventory Management
  • Develop and execute inventory strategy across all channels (retail, wholesale, DTC), balancing stock availability with working capital efficiency
  • Implement robust inventory controls within NetSuite including cycle counting, reconciliation procedures, and shrinkage prevention
  • Lead merchandise planning efforts, working closely with creative and sales teams to forecast demand, manage SKU proliferation, and optimize assortment by channel
  • Establish inventory KPIs including turn rates, weeks of supply, and fill rates; use data to drive replenishment decisions and reduce obsolescence
  • Manage raw materials procurement and precious metals inventory, coordinating with finance on hedging strategies where appropriate
Shipping, Receiving & Fulfillment
  • Oversee all inbound receiving operations, ensuring accurate intake of raw materials, finished goods, and returns with proper documentation and quality inspection
  • Optimize outbound fulfillment operations for DTC orders, wholesale shipments, and retail replenishment, ensuring speed, accuracy, and a premium unboxing experience
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with 3PL partners, carriers, and freight providers; negotiate rates and service levels to balance cost and customer experience
  • Build the international logistics playbook as the brand expands globally, navigating customs, duties, and compliance requirements for new markets
  • Implement warehouse management best practices, including layout optimization, pick/pack efficiency, and real-time tracking capabilities
Team Leadership, Culture & Performance Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports including the Senior Manager (Creative) and Digital Operations Manager, fostering their professional growth while ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Build and maintain a high-performance culture by establishing clear KPIs, conducting regular performance reviews, and implementing accountability systems that balance creative excellence with operational discipline
  • Design and evolve the organizational structure to support scaling, including workforce planning, succession planning, and creating leadership layers across departments
  • Champion our collaborative, creative culture by modeling inclusive leadership, facilitating cross-functional communication, and ensuring teams feel valued, heard, and motivated
  • Own talent acquisition strategy for operations roles, partnering with HR to recruit top talent and build a pipeline for future growth
  • Resolve conflicts, address performance issues with empathy and directness, and create an environment where feedback flows freely in all directions
Technology & IT Leadership
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of NetSuite ERP, ensuring seamless integration across finance, inventory, order management, and fulfillment modules
  • Develop and execute the company's technology roadmap, evaluating and deploying digital tools that enhance operational efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, security protocols, and vendor relationships to ensure system reliability, data protection, and compliance with industry standards
  • Champion automation and AI initiatives to reduce manual processes, improve accuracy, and free up team capacity for higher-value work
  • Ensure technology systems communicate effectively across e-commerce platforms, retail POS, wholesale portals, and back-office operations
Financial & Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with the CEO and finance team to improve gross margin, EBITDA, and long-term cash flow discipline through operational excellence
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality and team morale
  • Drive global expansion initiatives, building scalable operations infrastructure to support new retail locations and international markets
  • Contribute to strategic planning as a member of the leadership team, bringing operational insights to shape company direction
Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience
  • 8+ years of experience as COO, VP of Operations, or senior operations executive in a high-growth luxury, fashion, or consumer brand
  • Proven track record of scaling operations internationally while maintaining brand integrity and exceptional customer experience
  • Deep expertise in supply chain, production, logistics, and inventory management systems
  • Hands-on experience implementing and optimizing NetSuite or comparable ERP systems
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success improving margins and profitability
Skills & Attributes
  • People-First Leader: A genuine "people person" who builds trust, develops talent, and fosters collaboration across creative and operational teams
  • Culturally Attuned: Understands how to scale culture intentionally, preserving what makes a brand special while instilling accountability
  • Technically Fluent: Comfortable leading technology initiatives and leveraging data to drive decisions
  • Balanced Approach: Disciplined and structured, yet attuned to the creativity and craftsmanship that define our brand
  • Excellent Communicator: Clear, direct, and empathetic in all interactions; skilled at translating between creative and operational mindsets
  • Results-Oriented: Track record of setting ambitious goals and delivering measurable outcomes
What Success Looks Like? Within the first 6–12 months, this leader will have:
  • Completed a comprehensive assessment of current operations and delivered a prioritized transformation roadmap
  • Achieved full NetSuite implementation with integrated inventory, order management, and financial reporting
  • Built strong, trusting relationships with direct reports, cross-functional and external partners
  • Established clear performance metrics and accountability systems across operations
  • Delivered measurable improvements in fulfillment speed, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Created the operational foundation for at least one international expansion initiative
  • Contributed to improved gross margin through supply chain and process optimization
