Summary
The Control Systems Lead provides subject matter expertise for controls within a 24x7 fulfillment center, focusing on maintaining, troubleshooting and modifying material handling equipment and control systems to ensure operational performance and availability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLCs and industrial networks
- Escalate downtime situations to vendors and operations and coordinate support to restore equipment
- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance and operations to deploy performance improvements
- Act as technical consultant for capital projects and plan new technology installations with vendors
- Provide cross-site support and guidance to other fulfillment centers, including travel as needed
- Develop system documentation and standard work instructions for operations and maintenance teams
- Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of SCADA and PLC systems using diagnostic tools and CMMS
- Develop and deliver training on control systems to maintenance technicians
- Develop maintenance procedures to maximize asset life and equipment availability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years systems control knowledge and PLC troubleshooting experience
- Demonstrated experience using RSLogix 5000 to troubleshoot, program and modify PLC code
- Experience with robotics systems components and advanced automation control systems
- Industrial electrical hands on experience troubleshooting 24VDC to 480V 3 phase systems
- Experience with conveying and sortation systems and warehouse control systems messaging protocols
- Field service engineering or systems trainer experience
- Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings and PIDs
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and familiarity with SCADA systems and KPIs
