Job Description

Summary

Ten week summer internship for master s students to build predictive models and scalable code, perform exploratory data analysis, and communicate insights to stakeholders within a retail data science team. The role offers experience with large enterprise data sets across web, point of sale, supply chain, and customer domains.

Responsibilities

  • Build predictive models and algorithms to solve business problems
  • Design and implement production level scalable code and algorithms
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply statistical methods
  • Visualize findings and present insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts on projects
  • Work with enterprise datasets across multiple retail systems
  • Apply forecasting and time series analysis techniques

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a master s degree program in math statistics computer science analytics or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of full time industry work experience between undergrad graduation and master s program
  • Experience with querying languages such as Hive Presto or SQL
  • Proficiency in preprocessing and analysis tools such as Unix Python R
  • Experience with regression modeling prediction forecasting and time series analysis
  • Familiarity with machine learning methodologies including supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Strong technical communication and ability to work collaboratively and independently
