Demand Forecaster

The Demand Forecaster is a dynamic role within the replenishment business, responsible for creating gross demand sales plans and managing the productivity of a department's replenishment assortment. Collaborating with business partners, the Demand Forecaster aims to achieve financial objectives, maintain in-stock targets, and run efficient inventory. The role shares accountability to meet and exceed departmental sales volume and support Merchandise Margin.

• Lead forecast application education, maintenance, and evolution.
• Maintain attributes and default settings in the forecasting application.
• Apply an understanding of customer needs, wants, and expectations to drive the replenishment merchandising strategy.
• Collaborate with merchant partners to create optimal demand forecasts that align with the merchandise strategy.
• Ensure order results align with the buyer's expected outcomes.
• Proactively seek opportunities to drive replenishment and improve item performance.
• Perform analysis and influence decision-making to improve replenishment sales and inventory results.
• Demonstrate proficiency in applicable systems, including replenishment, item planning, reporting, and division-specific tools.

• Experience with retail forecasting tools and methods, with Oracle merchandising foundation experience and/or Retail Demand Forecast (RDF) experience preferred.
• Minimum 1-3 years experience in retail merchandise planning and analysis, inventory management, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting a high sales volume category preferred.
• Basic statistics proficiency.
• Understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom required.
• Ability to develop relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite required.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required.
