Summary
The Department Manager, Leather Goods leads a department or floor to achieve sales targets and develop client relationships while coaching and growing a team of client advisors. This role supports the Store Manager/Director in developing new and existing clients and ensures high standards of product knowledge and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the team to drive business goals and create a positive work environment
- Define and review individual and team targets and manage performance
- Provide qualitative feedback and coach team members in the moment
- Recruit and develop talent in collaboration with Store Manager or Director
- Role model selling techniques and support team sales to develop KPIs
- Manage customer flow to ensure high level of client service and engagement
- Develop customer database by optimizing data capture and integrity
- Drive sales for assigned category and analyze performance to create improvement actions
- Lead store operations in absence of senior management including opening and closing
Requirements
- Proven experience leading diverse retail teams in a similar environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop creative solutions
- Passion and knowledge of the leather goods product category
- Client centric mindset with a commitment to exceed expectations
- Team player willing to work side by side with the team
- Interest in fashion, art and culture
- Fluent in English
