Responsibilities- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the design strategy alongside the Head of Design.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team.
- Develop inspirational boards to guide seasonal design aesthetics.
- Provide novel print and graphic ideas in collaboration with a print designer.
- Direct the accessories team in creating handbag collections that embody the Marc Jacobs vibe.
- Deliver solutions throughout the creative design and development lifecycle.
- Forge alliances with cross-category teams to create a unified collection.
- Select and review materials and trims in collaboration with Product Development and Materials teams.
- Guide and motivate the design team to develop original products.
- Inspire creative thinking and encourage novel concepts within the team.
- Mentor and develop the design team to achieve exceptional performance.
- Ensure organization and archiving of development samples.
- Sketch, spec, and detail handbags and groups.
- Review and correct development samples to maintain product knowledge.
- Provide technical expertise for new silhouettes and communicate technical information to factories.
- Develop detailed technical specifications using Adobe Illustrator.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, collaborating with the PD team.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Fashion Design, or related field.
- 10+ years of design experience with demonstrated success.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the accessories market, specializing in bag design and development.
- Refined eye for color, fashion, and product with awareness of market trends.
- Comprehensive understanding of the design and product development lifecycle.
- Strong aptitude for design execution and conceptual design development.
- Proficient in organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent taste level and brand awareness.
