Job Description

Summary

As a Design Manager at Chanel Toronto Offices, you will lead all phases of design coordination, construction project management, procurement, and financial reporting for new projects and existing asset renovations. You will ensure adherence to Chanel's global guidelines and collaborate with various business units within the Canadian team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the design process and project execution for new builds and renovations.
  • Adapt drawings and concept renderings for local needs.
  • Coordinate design of stockrooms and operational spaces.
  • Hire and collaborate with local professionals for drawing packages.
  • Plan, budget, and forecast projects, reporting to the CFO and President.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with the Repair and Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage design of audio visual, security, IT, lighting, and loss prevention systems.
  • Negotiate with landlord's tenant coordination team.
  • Select and manage contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Inspect quality of finishes, furniture, and materials on site.
  • Manage shop fitters and installation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local building and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with CFO on budget management and procurement.
  • Travel within Canada for 30% of the role.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of retail store design experience.
  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Strong comprehension of architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Confidence and understanding of construction sites.
  • PMP designation or LEED accreditation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, and Excel is an asset.
  • Experience with COUPA is an asset.
