Summary
The Designated Selling Associate provides one-on-one customer service, drives sales and appointments, and champions assigned brands through product knowledge, merchandising, and relationship building. This role requires flexibility to support department needs and occasional cross-department duties while using digital selling tools and Nordstrom systems.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling
- Build and maintain lasting customer relationships and open rewards accounts
- Provide personalized style advice, feedback on fit and product value
- Use selling tools including text and social media and manage reservations and appointments
- Conduct product knowledge meetings and train peers on brand trends
- Perform merchandising tasks including stocking, re-merchandising, displays and price markdowns
- Provide product feedback to the district manager to improve assortment
- Maintain department readiness through cleaning and merchandise transfers
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a competitive team environment and prioritize tasks
- Comfort with flexible scheduling based on business needs
- Ability to read sales reporting and understand goals
- Product and fashion knowledge with ability to educate customers and peers
- Confidence selling across high and low price points and demonstrating value
- Organizational skills to follow up with customers and build wardrobe strategies
- Physical ability to perform continuous movement, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds
