Summary
The Designated Selling Associate provides one-on-one customer service to drive sales and represent a specific brand. The role focuses on product knowledge, merchandising, appointment and digital selling, and building customer relationships while supporting department operations and sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals through in-store and digital selling including use of text and social media
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide style and fit guidance and educate customers on brand products
- Participate in product knowledge meetings and train peers on brand trends
- Support department readiness through stocking, remerchandising, displays, price markdowns and transfers
- Drive predictable business through appointment based selling during events and non event times
- Provide product feedback to the department manager to inform assortment
- Perform flexible duties which may include working in departments other than the one hired into
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish customer rapport
- Ability to perform in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs
- Ability to read sales reporting and understand goals
- Strong product and fashion knowledge with ability to educate customers
- Confidence selling across high and low price points and articulating product value
- Physical ability to move continuously for 6-8 hours and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
