Summary
The Designated Selling Associate focuses on one-on-one customer service to drive sales and represent a luxury brand within the store. This role involves building customer relationships, delivering product knowledge and styling advice, and supporting both in-store and digital selling activities including appointments and reservations.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital channels using selling tools such as text and social media
- Cultivate and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide personalized styling advice and educate customers on product fit value and wardrobe integration
- Conduct and participate in product knowledge meetings and trainings for peers
- Support department readiness through stocking remerchandising displays price markdowns transfers and cleaning
- Offer product feedback to the district manager to improve assortment
- Drive appointment-based selling during events and non-event timeframes
- Be flexible to perform duties in other departments as business needs require
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and cultivate customer relationships
- Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize tasks in a fast paced setting
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Ability to read sales reporting in relation to goals and support sales initiatives
- Strong product knowledge and ability to educate customers on brands and trends
- Confidence selling across varied price points and demonstrating item value
- Organizational skills to strategically follow up with customers about wardrobe needs
- Ability to perform continuous movement for 6-8 hours and lift items up to 25 pounds
