Summary

Seasonal Apparel Designer responsible for owning brand design and creating products that meet customer expectations, working within the Nordstrom Product Group at the downtown Seattle headquarters in a hybrid model. The role involves developing concept and design for assigned lines, researching trends and materials, and collaborating with cross functional partners to support seasonal storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Support design leadership in building seasonal brand design direction for assigned area
• Conduct customer and trend research to inform design decisions
• Own concept and design for assigned lines ensuring alignment with brand direction and line plans
• Research materials and select fabrics and trims
• Collaborate with print team on textile application and with cross functional partners
• Partner with leadership to define color direction for the line
• Create and curate visual tools to support seasonal storytelling
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the design process

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design preferred
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the design industry
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to hand sketch and adapt to new technology and systems
• Strong time management and multi tasking abilities
• Deep understanding of industry trends within assigned categories
