Job Description

RH is seeking a Director, Commercial Contracts to help bring our vision to life as we expand our global luxury lifestyle business. Reporting to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Senior Corporate Counsel, you will guide commercial agreements across RH and build contracting practices that help our teams move with speed, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to quality. This role may be based at RH’s headquarters in Corte Madera, California or performed remotely from anywhere within the United States.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across procurement, vendor and supplier relationships, technology, marketing, logistics, hospitality, gallery operations, and other business functions
  • Partner with leaders across RH to provide clear, practical advice on contract terms, risk allocation, interpretation, and dispute avoidance
  • Lead RH’s contract lifecycle management strategy, improving workflows, approval processes, and self-service tools for recurring agreements
  • Develop and refine contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines that support consistent, efficient decision-making
  • Introduce AI tools and workflows for contract drafting, review, and analysis while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and legal quality
  • Track contract volume, cycle times, and key terms; use those insights to improve service and communicate priorities to Legal leadership
  • Mentor paralegals, contribute to broader Legal initiatives, and build trusted partnerships grounded in responsiveness, collaboration, and excellence

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of relevant commercial contracts experience; meaningful in-house experience at a large publicly traded company is preferred, and a combination of law firm and in-house experience will be considered
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership in good standing; California bar membership or eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California is strongly preferred
  • Deep experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, procurement, technology, and services contracts
  • Experience building contract management programs, templates, and playbooks, with fluency in contract lifecycle technology and AI tools used for legal work
  • Exceptional legal judgment, organization, and communication skills; a collaborative, hands-on approach; and the ability to focus on material risks while delivering precise work in a fast-moving environment

Salary range: $170,000 - $235,000 Annually.
