Summary
The Director of Commercial Learning and Development leads the strategy and execution of learning initiatives for Cartier's commercial teams across North America. This role develops a high-performing team, uses data to measure impact, and partners with senior commercial stakeholders to strengthen selling skills, client experience, product knowledge, and leadership capabilities. Approximately 70% of the role involves field activities and travel.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the commercial learning strategy, aligned with global learning priorities and business objectives.
- Analyze performance data to identify capability gaps, guide priorities, and measure learning effectiveness and return on investment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed team of learning professionals.
- Drive learning initiatives and technology adoption across boutiques, the call center, and retail partners.
- Partner with regional leaders and cross-functional teams to develop solutions and present insights to senior leadership.
- Visit boutiques and regional offices to understand commercial needs and translate field insights into learning strategies.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive Learning and Development experience, including 5 years leading a team; alternatively, 8 or more years as a commercial leader in retail with strong people-development experience.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and knowledge of commercial selling environments; luxury retail experience is a plus.
- Strong commercial acumen, data analysis, measurement strategy, communication, presentation, and stakeholder partnership skills.
- bachelor's degree in a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, learning management systems, and AI tools.
- Ability to travel approximately 70% across North America.
