Summary
Lead construction finance and cost accounting efforts across a diverse portfolio, overseeing the full construction lifecycle from predevelopment through closeout. Provide strategic leadership, drive cost control and financial reporting, partner with cross functional teams, and mentor a high performing team to ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and budget objectives.
Responsibilities
- Review track and report in house construction budgets to align with strategic financial and design objectives
- Create and maintain comprehensive project cost reports with real time visibility into financial health
- Lead monthly and regular reporting of project costs with analysis and variance explanations to senior leadership
- Collaborate with Finance on financial reporting and deadlines to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Partner with Construction leaders to review change orders and purchase orders for budget alignment
- Direct cost management including forecasting reconciliations and lifecycle project financial oversight
- Build and maintain partnerships with Design Development Legal Finance Merchandising and Operations and external consultants and contractors
- Manage contract review and consultant and contractor onboarding to ensure fiscal responsibility
- Lead mentor and inspire team members fostering collaboration accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction finance preferably in luxury retail or hospitality
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Finance Accounting or related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred
- Proven expertise in construction financial analysis and cost control
- Deep understanding of construction processes terminology contracts scheduling and building systems
- Demonstrated business acumen with success in real estate development commercial construction and financial oversight
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage and influence executive leadership
- Strong analytical organizational communication and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with financial systems and project management cost tracking software such as Microsoft Project Office Suite Procore or Smartsheet
