Director Finance - Accounting and External Financial Reporting

The Director of Finance - Accounting and External Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, including inventory valuation, fixed assets, general accounting, sales and income tax, and ensuring compliance with IFRS. This role involves leading the accounting and EFR teams, managing audits, and ensuring effective financial controls.

• Provide leadership and direction to the accounting and EFR teams.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of deliverables for external financial statement and pension plan audits.
• Manage month-end and year-end accounting cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
• Establish governance processes for balance sheet reconciliation and review.
• Lead balance sheet forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Coordinate and review complex accounting issues and provide guidance.
• Develop and manage IFRS compliant accounting policies.
• Ensure processes for sales, excise, and withholding taxes are in place.
• Manage income tax return preparation and filing.
• Maintain relationships with external partners such as auditors and tax advisors.
• Monitor control systems to preserve company assets and ensure accurate financial statements.
• Support internal audits and pursue process improvements.
• Lead, motivate, and train a team of high-performing employees.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports as necessary.

• University degree in Business, Accounting, or Commerce.
• Professional accountancy designation (CPA).
• Minimum of 10 years of post-university work experience, including 5+ years in supervisory or management roles.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
