Job Description

Summary

Senior engineering leader responsible for manufacturing engineering support for jewelry product development, providing hands-on bench work and technical oversight. Partners with design, product development, and global Manufacturing Excellence teams to ensure manufacturability and production standards. Owns ECN projects and mentors junior team members while supporting domestic and international vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with NY design and product development teams to validate construction, finishes, and manufacturability early in the development process.
  • Serve as a hands-on bench engineer for Women’s Mainline projects and support prototype development with the internal shop.
  • Coordinate with the Bangkok Manufacturing Excellence team and with domestic, Italian, and European vendors to troubleshoot samples, ensure QC standards, and communicate learnings.
  • Own and drive ECN projects from initiation to completion, including vendor communication and sample sign-off.
  • Document best practices in a Manufacturing Excellence manual and stay current on new manufacturing techniques and technologies.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to junior ME staff and travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
  • Minimum 8 years of practical jewelry manufacturing experience, including production manufacturing.
  • Extensive hands-on model making and assembly experience with sterling silver, gold alloys, platinum, titanium, and aluminum; strong knowledge of casting, rubber mold and wax production, stamping, and machining.
  • Expertise in stone setting techniques, electroplating (white and black rhodium), and multiple finishing methods.
  • Proficiency with Rhino 3D (Version 8), rapid prototyping, and common office software; demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges at every stage and willingness to travel.
