Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and execution of enterprise privacy and governance programs, ensuring compliance with U.S. privacy laws and strengthening cybersecurity governance across the organization. Partner with Legal, HR, Marketing, Finance, and business units to operationalize privacy regulations and drive program maturity and risk reduction. Manage incident response, policy lifecycle, and reporting to senior leadership while building governance frameworks and roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage enterprise privacy operations including PIAs, data subject rights workflows, and privacy by design reviews
- Develop governance frameworks defining roles responsibilities and accountability for data privacy risk
- Own lifecycle management of privacy and cybersecurity policies including creation review and updates
- Ensure compliance with U.S. privacy laws such as CCPA CPRA and various state statutes
- Create governance reporting mechanisms and executive dashboards to track program maturity and risk posture
- Lead incident response for privacy breaches including investigation documentation and regulatory reporting
- Conduct maturity assessments gap analyses and prioritize remediation efforts
- Oversee vendor privacy risk assessments and ensure appropriate contractual terms
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or JD MBA preferred
- 10+ years in privacy data protection governance compliance or risk management with 8+ years in leadership
- Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy regulatory landscape and operationalization experience
- Experience building governance frameworks and managing policy programs across complex organizations
- Familiarity with technical environments from legacy systems to cloud containers
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence executive leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Certifications such as CIPP US CIPM CGEIT CRISC or CISM preferred
