Job Description

Summary

The Director of Construction for Full Line Stores will contribute to the vision and strategy for store design, architecture, and construction of new stores, remodels, and selected projects. This leader thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrates excellence in managing multiple concurrent work streams and individual assignments with agility and precision. They are a strategic decision influencer and decision maker, driving speed to market and cost efficiencies across all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Partner effectively with key executive leaders, internal and external stakeholders, and end users to understand needs and anticipate future business changes.
  • Identify and establish goals and develop strategies for the project management team to support Company and Store Design objectives.
  • Oversee the creation, development, implementation, and management of department processes to support the Store Design team.
  • Drive speed to market and cost optimization across all projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Build and lead project teams, including external contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop and evolve standardized project management tools for the process, including goals, scope, timeline, and task documentation.
  • Manage and communicate information about project status and changes in strategy, initiatives, standards, priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Develop, document, and refine construction estimates in partnership with Store Design Finance and FLS Finance teams.
  • Manage, monitor, and report financial aspects and budgets to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Develop construction standards and best practices to meet quality, time, and cost expectations.
  • Stay current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business.
  • Work without direct supervision, handle numerous projects simultaneously, enable change management, and respond to the changing retail environment.
  • Support local needs and nuances in full line store work, ensuring tailored solutions that reflect regional requirements and customer expectations.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management or related field.
  • Strong ability to lead and navigate cross-functional partnerships, including internal teams, third-party vendors, and external consultants.
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent work streams and individual assignments with agility and precision.
  • Strategic decision influencer and decision maker, driving speed to market and cost efficiencies across all projects.
  • Ability to travel to support project oversight and stakeholder engagement.
