SummaryAs the Director of Engineering, you will manage and direct engineering resources for North America, focusing on the implementation of new products, processes, technologies, and continuous improvement in a multi-site environment. You will partner with various disciplines to execute design and implementation of systems and controls to meet operational metrics on quality, service, cost, and productivity.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and guidance on improving existing technology, processes, and equipment reliability.
- Implement tools, systems, and technology to maintain and improve operations.
- Provide day-to-day technical support for manufacturing and translate technical knowledge to functional groups.
- Leverage lean tools to improve manufacturing cycle time and reduce WIP.
- Support and lead validation of products, equipment, and process changes for operational and quality improvement.
- Guide standardization of processes and materials across manufacturing sites.
- Support finance and manufacturing with engineering standards for labor and equipment.
- Partner with quality to develop quality control plans.
- Develop procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met.
- Build and manage an engineering team for equipment validations, new product introductions, and operational support.
- Focus on key metrics such as operational yields, WIP, productivity, and equipment downtime.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 10+ years in a manufacturing environment.
- 8+ years in managing an engineering organization.
- Experience in lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all business levels.
- Experience with project management and managing a full project portfolio.
- Constraint-based skills and experience.
