Job Description

Overview

Based in New York, our emerging jewelry brand specializes in high-quality silver and gold pieces. We are currently enhancing our production management and vendor coordination to address capacity constraints and streamline project timelines. The Production Consultant will play a pivotal role in transitioning production processes in-house, ensuring closer control over quality and cost management. This position is essential for facilitating direct communication between the design team and production, thereby improving overall efficiency and product excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive transition plan to bring production management in-house and identify suitable vendors.
  • Create and implement a production planning framework to manage ongoing and future projects effectively.
  • Price out 2 Projects (Collaborations) to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Evaluate overseas production opportunities, with a focus on silver pieces and potentially other materials.
  • Review current jewelry designs for manufacturability and suggest necessary modifications to optimize production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in jewelry production management and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of jewelry materials, manufacturing processes, and cost management.
  • Proven ability to manage production timelines, budgets, and quality control.
  • Experience in both in-house and outsourced production environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities to facilitate collaboration between teams and vendors.
  • Ability to evaluate and optimize jewelry designs for manufacturability.
