SummaryThe Distribution Clerk (Inventory and Lens Order) is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of material orders and product selection for laboratory Rx & stock orders. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Timely and accurate keying of lens and frame purchase order requirements into computer systems for electronic transmission to vendors.
- Execute required procedures to retrieve products from inventories for further Rx and stock processing.
- Access and interpret reports within software programs related to inventory levels, purchase orders, and fill rates.
- Perform cycle counts and periodic inventory checks.
- Apply company promotions, policies, and procedures in order entry functions.
- Recheck completed Rx's for correctness before issuing to lab for processing.
- Match vendor shipping memos and invoices, following branch and accounting procedures for document submission for payment.
- Maintain lab operating system software update/procedures manual and keep work area organized.
- Ensure compliance with all company and manufacturer policies, attendance, and safety rules.
- Assist others as necessary to maintain workload balance and meet deadlines.
- Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees.
- Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in a distribution/logistics environment.
- Basic use of laptop, keyboard, and 10-key typing skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- General knowledge of Ophthalmics is preferred.
