Double Needle Sewer

Summary

The Double Needle Sewer operates double needle upholstery sewing machines to create decorative double stitch and top stitch on fabric and leather upholstery following quality and product specifications. The role supports production by reading production tickets, performing basic machine maintenance, and assisting in other sewing cell duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate double needle sewing machine to sew fabric and leather decorative double stitch and top stitch
• Read and follow instructions on production tickets and sew notes
• Sew fabric or leather parts together to meet quality requirements and desired look
• Use hand tools such as scissors and other tools
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain assigned sewing machines
• Assist with other duties in the slip cover sewing cell as required
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year prior experience in a similar role with knowledge of upholstery products
• Able to read and understand production tickets
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members
• Able to multitask with minimal supervision
• Detail oriented
• Capable of prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing
• Able to lift and mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 50 pounds using proper equipment
