Job Description

Summary

As an Engineer 1 - Full Stack at Nordstrom, you will join our POS+ team to develop and support innovative in-store selling tools. This role involves building fast, secure, and modern point-of-sale experiences that enhance customer service across our retail locations. You will work with a collaborative team using cutting-edge technologies to deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Build, test, and support stable, maintainable, and secure web applications and APIs.
  • Write clean, well-documented code using React and Java, adhering to engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to test automation, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Learn and apply cloud-native development patterns, including AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative development.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and support store operations.
  • Rotate through on-call responsibilities for production support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Some hands-on coding experience with React, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end development frameworks and workflows is a plus.
  • Strong desire to learn full-stack development and work across front-end, backend, and cloud services.
  • Interest in building real-world software that impacts store teams and customers.
