Summary
Entry-level Platform Engineer role on the Developer Compute team responsible for building and operating Kubernetes based infrastructure and foundational platform services. The role involves provisioning infrastructure as code, supporting production systems, and collaborating with application teams while participating in on-call rotation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure Kubernetes clusters and components using Terraform and GitOps workflows
- Participate in operational support of production Kubernetes infrastructure including troubleshooting cluster and networking issues
- Build and maintain CI CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and testing
- Implement and maintain security controls such as RBAC policies and authentication mechanisms
- Monitor cluster health and performance using observability tools and respond to alerts
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and team knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with application teams to support infrastructure needs and resolve deployment issues
- Participate in on call rotation to ensure platform reliability and availability
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or similar space
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Foundational understanding of Linux systems and command line tools
- Exposure to at least one programming or scripting language such as Python Go or Bash
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to debug technical issues systematically
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to ask questions and learn
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
