Engineer 2 - Merchandising Inventory and Supply Chain Org

As an Engineer 2 in the Merchandising, Inventory, and Supply Chain Organization at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the technical landscape with innovative systems, APIs, and platforms. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance APIs and software services, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our solutions.

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and critical software services.
• Develop robust, maintainable, and reusable code for various environments.
• Plan and implement application enhancements to improve functionality and security.
• Develop common libraries and services for merchandising, inventory, and supply chain processes.
• Enhance automated test cases and deployment procedures.
• Lead by example with hands-on design, prototyping, and building.
• Analyze system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
• Enforce engineering standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

• 4+ years of industry experience in Object Oriented languages like Java, Python, or Kotlin.
• Experience with Restful/GraphQL services, preferably in Nodejs/TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud application development and scalable architecture.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and asynchronous message processing.
• Experience with relational and No-SQL databases.
• Familiarity with design patterns and version control practices.
• Experience with test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong customer-focused mentality and operational mindset.
