Job Description

Summary

As an Engineer 2 in the Merchandising, Inventory & Supply Chain Org at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the technical landscape by developing innovative systems, APIs, and platforms. You will be responsible for empowering both internal and external users with critical tools in merchandising, inventory, and supply chain management, while working in a hybrid environment based in Seattle.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and critical software services.
  • Develop robust, maintainable, and reusable code for various environments.
  • Plan and implement application enhancements to improve functionality and security.
  • Develop common libraries and services for merch, inventory, and supply chain processes.
  • Maintain and enhance automated test cases and deployment procedures.
  • Lead by example in designing, prototyping, and building solutions.
  • Analyze system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
  • Enforce engineering standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Focus on customer needs and ensure reliability of solutions.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of industry experience with strong development skills in Object Oriented languages.
  • Experience with Restful/GraphQL services and cloud application development.
  • Proficiency in designing scalable microservices and using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with asynchronous message processing and cloud databases.
  • Familiarity with design patterns and version control practices.
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodology.
