Summary
Perform repairs and alterations on new and client owned jewelry using standard and specialty techniques including soldering, laser welding, fabrication, assembly, enameling, finishing and stone setting while maintaining workshop safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete craft work according to quality and design standards and follow written repair instructions.
- Perform soldering, laser welding, fabrication, assembly, gluing, enameling and finishing tasks.
- Inspect assigned orders for defects and note, repair or escalate as appropriate.
- Meet or exceed established productivity standards based on work mix and role.
- Maintain organized bench, work space and assigned orders to meet due dates.
- Request and manage parts, consumables, tools and scrap according to procedures.
- Provide assistance throughout the service center and perform alternate craft work as needed.
- Participate in special projects and collaborate with coworkers administration and management.
- Comply with health and safety requirements and maintain a safe workstation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in jewelry repair and related techniques.
- Soldering and laser welding experience.
- Diamond and gemstone setting experience.
- Flexible availability including overtime and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced team environment.
- Basic computer knowledge preferred and technical or gemology training is a plus.
