Summary
The Facilities Technician II helps maintain a safe, well-functioning environment across Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations. This lead technician performs and coordinates preventive and on-demand maintenance, troubleshoots building systems, and supports the Facility Manager. The role also mentors technicians and works with store leaders, vendors, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to repair requests across multiple store locations.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and other building systems; monitor building controls and investigate system alarms.
- Conduct building rounds, identify equipment issues, and document maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Order parts, manage vendors, maintain inventory, and assist with work orders, purchase orders, and project meetings.
- Promote safe work practices and comply with applicable codes, regulations, and company procedures.
- Mentor and train other technicians, coordinate with store leaders and contractors, and respond to location emergencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; vocational or college education is preferred.
- Five to seven years of hands-on facilities experience, including at least five years performing predictive and preventive maintenance.
- At least five years of experience with HVAC and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions, low-voltage signals, and logical devices.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and use Microsoft Office and a computerized maintenance management system.
- Knowledge of computer networking and electromechanical systems is preferred; project management experience is a plus.
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours; able to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physical tasks including climbing and standing.
