Facilities Technician 2 - Electrical & HVAC - Woodfield Mall

Summary

The Facilities Technician 2 helps maintain a safe, well-functioning environment across Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations. This lead technician performs and coordinates maintenance, troubleshoots building systems, and supports the Facility Manager and other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance, equipment rounds, and repairs across building systems.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other store operations issues; monitor building controls and respond to emergencies.
• Document work in the maintenance system, order parts, manage vendors, and coordinate with store leaders and property managers.
• Promote workplace safety, mentor and train technicians, and support meetings and project coordination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; vocational or college education preferred.
• At least 5 years of hands-on facilities experience, including preventive maintenance and HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot building systems, work independently, communicate effectively, and use Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours; able to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physical work.
