Job Description

Summary

As the General Manager at Ralph Lauren in Altoona, you will be responsible for developing leadership talent, running a profitable business, and executing strategic initiatives to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will optimize customer engagement, develop talent, and increase productivity while maintaining brand integrity standards.

Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for sales and profit performance, ensuring sales and margin goals are met.
  • Own strategic planning and execution of company initiatives to optimize impact for your store location.
  • Create a consistent customer experience aligned with RL brand expectations.
  • Shape a client development strategy and lead community outreach efforts.
  • Set talent strategy, build and develop a team focused on customer service.
  • Source, recruit, and retain high-performing talent through feedback and coaching.
  • Educate and train team to build new skills and enhance capabilities.
  • Maintain productivity standards through process management including inventory and store shrink goals.
  • Champion use of new technology to support sales techniques and drive business results.
  • Uphold all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to partners, identifying high profit potential and business trends.
  • Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations.
  • Create an inclusive environment aligned with Ralph Lauren values.
Requirements
  • College Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Retail Management or similar industry experience in a complex, high-volume environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel.
  • Ability to maneuver around the sales floor and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability to operate the register and work flexible schedules including nights and weekends.
  • Proven track record of success in building positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong business acumen and planning skills.
