The General Manager is accountable for driving sales and profit performance, developing store leadership talent, executing company initiatives, and delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct responsibility for sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store impact
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement a client development and community outreach strategy
- Set talent strategy including sourcing, recruiting and retaining high performing team members
- Provide coaching, training and continuous feedback to build team capabilities
- Manage inventory control, productivity standards and store shrink goals
- Champion use of new technology and selling techniques to drive results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent is a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive customer and team relationships
- Strong business acumen with planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking and lifting up to 30 lbs
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and occasional travel
