Job Description

Summary

The General Manager leads the store to achieve sales and profit objectives by developing leadership talent, executing strategic initiatives, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is accountable for driving productivity, maintaining brand standards, and shaping client development and community outreach strategies. The General Manager ensures operational excellence across merchandising, inventory, and team performance while fostering an inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Own sales and profit performance, meeting sales and margin goals.
  • Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store results.
  • Create and maintain a consistent, high-quality customer experience aligned to brand expectations.
  • Set and implement talent strategy, including sourcing, recruiting, coaching and developing store team members.
  • Manage inventory, shrink goals, and store processes to maintain productivity and standards.
  • Champion new selling technologies and omnichannel initiatives to drive business.
  • Provide market feedback on product performance and category trends to cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Retail management experience in a high-volume or specialty environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams and drive sales results.
  • Strong communication, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk and work on the sales floor; lift up to 30 lbs and perform stockroom duties.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel.
  • Business acumen and ability to analyze store performance and implement improvements.
