Job Description

Summary

As a General Manager in Supply Chain at our Portland location, you will oversee the overall performance of operations, focusing on efficiency, cost reductions, and key programs. You will play a critical role in developing a strong culture of growth and learning, ensuring Nordstrom's position as the employer of choice in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of support and operations staff, ensuring day-to-day efficiency and alignment with company goals.
  • Drive recruiting, training, and development of managers and employees, partnering with key support functions.
  • Ensure effective communication across processing areas to align with goals and initiatives.
  • Participate as a key stakeholder in process, capital, or improvement projects.
  • Partner with Seattle/Corporate teams for resource allocation and priority management.
  • Achieve defined operational metrics and expense objectives.
  • Promote LEAN philosophy for continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of Supply Chain leadership experience in Fulfillment or similar environment.
  • Graduate-level degree in related discipline is a plus.
  • Proven track record of leading a large Fulfillment/eComm site with over 500 employees.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate.
  • Experience in implementing and leading Lean initiatives.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop reliable, cost-effective systems and procedures.
  • Success in identifying, developing, and retaining quality talent.
  • Willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities.
  • Bilingual, Spanish language skill preferred.
