Job Description

Overview

We are a New York–based luxury fragrance brand specializing in home and personal fragrances. Our product line includes hand-poured candles, diffusers, and scented mists crafted with premium ingredients. We are seeking a General Manager to lead commercial operations and drive revenue growth from $12M to $25–30M. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will collaborate with a lean remote team spanning sales, marketing, e-commerce, design, procurement, and finance. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with a marketing mentality to accelerate expansion and profitability.

Responsibilities

Growth & Distribution Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy to materially scale the brand's revenue and global distribution footprint
  • Establish and expand prestige distribution across key wholesale, specialty retail, and omnichannel partners in the U.S. and internationally
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to unlock new retail partnerships and strategic growth opportunities
Commercial Ownership
  • Own the commercial P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance management
  • Drive sell-in and sell-through strategy across all channels, ensuring alignment between promotional planning, merchandising, education, and training
  • Create and manage retail programming calendars, including launches, promotions, and in-store initiatives
Brand & Product Partnership
  • Partner closely with Product leadership to shape assortment, product mix, and category expansion opportunities required for scale
  • Provide strategic input on brand positioning and go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Marketing
  • Support expansion into adjacent product categories as appropriate to drive long-term growth
Team & Operations Leadership
  • Build, lead, and scale the commercial organization required to execute the growth strategy
  • Coach and develop sales leadership and field teams to drive performance and brand consistency
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Logistics, Packaging, Customer Service, and 3PL partners to ensure operational excellence and scalability
Executive & Board Engagement
  • Present growth strategy, performance updates, and long-term plans to executive leadership and the Board
  • Act as a senior representative of the brand with key partners and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Senior commercial leader with experience scaling a premium or luxury consumer brand (beauty, fragrance, home fragrance, or adjacent category)
  • Demonstrated success building and expanding wholesale and omnichannel distribution, including prestige retail partners
  • Proven ability to grow a business through material revenue scale while maintaining brand integrity
  • Strong operator comfortable owning strategy, execution, and financial outcomes
  • Experience leading teams through periods of rapid growth and transformation
  • Brings an established industry network and deep understanding of retail dynamics
