Summary
The HR Generalist provides broad HR partnership across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and talent management for OTB North America. This role has primary ownership of employee relations matters and independently leads investigations, difficult conversations, and case resolution while partnering with HR leadership on complex or high-risk cases. The position also supports HR operations including HRIS accuracy, internship and engagement programs, recruitment logistics, and reporting across multiple brands and markets.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including intake, investigations, interviews, documentation, corrective action, and resolution.
- Lead difficult conversations and coaching decisions; escalate complex or precedent-setting matters to HRVP/Director.
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment logistics for retail leadership and select corporate roles, including offer letter drafting and candidate communication.
- Own onboarding, transfers, promotions, leave coordination, and offboarding for assigned brands or client groups.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and conduct monthly audits; compile HR metrics and prepare leadership-ready reporting.
- Manage the internship program, employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and manager training logistics.
- Support talent management administration, succession planning preparation, and HR project coordination.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience with independent ownership of employee relations and investigations.
- Retail or luxury retail/fashion experience strongly preferred and comfort operating across North American markets (US/Canada/Mexico).
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, SuccessFactors) and strong administrative accuracy for confidential documentation.
- Working knowledge of employment law in supported markets and sound judgment applying policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; strong documentation and Microsoft Office 365 abilities.
- Discretion handling confidential information and the ability to lead sensitive meetings independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
