Job Description

Summary

The Head of Merchandising leads the fashion merchandising team across Canada, translating global brand vision into local product and sales strategies. The role oversees assortment, financial planning, stock performance, and cross-functional collaboration to support commercial results and an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product and merchandising strategies aligned with global brand values and local growth objectives.
  • Define boutique assortments and oversee stock allocation, sales forecasting, open-to-buy budgets, and product performance reporting.
  • Partner with Finance, Fashion, Boutique, Retail, Training, Visual Merchandising, and other teams to support business goals and local initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, while managing projects, critical paths, and process improvements.
  • Monitor competitor positioning and market trends, sharing insights with regional partners and contributing to business reviews.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of merchandising or buying experience in luxury fashion retail.
  • Significant experience participating in global buying sessions and working with international headquarters and cross-cultural teams.
  • Extensive experience across merchandising activities.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, adaptability, ownership, and communication skills.
  • A strong passion for product and brand, with the ability to analyze buying behaviors and luxury retail trends.
