Job Description

Summary

The Head Tailor leads the alterations and tailoring function within a retail store, delivering high-quality fit and finish for menswear garments. This role oversees a team of tailors to ensure deadlines, productivity, and quality standards are met while providing exceptional customer service. The Head Tailor works both independently and collaboratively to support store success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of tailors and alteration specialists, ensuring productivity and quality targets are met.
  • Perform alterations and tailoring on jackets, pants, shirts, and other menswear garments to a high standard.
  • Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and pressing equipment.
  • Manage workflow and deadlines to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to customers to build loyalty and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years leading a team of tailors or alterationists.
  • 2-3+ years experience using and maintaining industrial sewing machines and pressers.
  • Proven expertise in altering and tailoring luxury menswear garments, including jackets, pants, and shirts.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a retail team to achieve store goals.
