Job Description

Summary

Experienced HR Business Partner supporting retail teams across Western Canada with a primary focus on Vancouver and Calgary. Acts as a trusted advisor to boutique leadership to shape the employee experience across the full talent lifecycle, including attraction, onboarding, performance and development. Requires a strong in-person presence at the Vancouver Oakridge Boutique (minimum four days per week) and occasional planned travel across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance, coaching and support to Boutique Directors and management teams.
  • Lead employee relations, disciplinary and performance-management processes, ensuring consistency and documentation.
  • Partner on workforce planning, talent attraction and end-to-end recruitment, including offers and preboarding.
  • Build and implement structured onboarding plans and tailored development roadmaps for key talent and succession candidates.
  • Analyze employee feedback and recruitment metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate employee and job data in Workday and other HRIS tools.
  • Participate in relevant committees such as Health & Safety and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

Requirements

  • 7 years of progressive HR Business Partner or equivalent strategic HR experience.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment and labour legislation and sound judgment in sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and influencing outcomes in a retail environment.
  • Experience in recruitment and talent acquisition, including high-volume and specialized searches; familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Workday and HRIS experience preferred.
  • Strong project-management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to be onsite at the Vancouver Oakridge Boutique at least four days per week and travel occasionally across Canada.
