Summary
The Industrial Engineer 2, Supply Chain applies industrial engineering principles to improve processes, systems, and equipment within fulfillment and distribution centers. This role partners with operations and cross functional teams to analyze data, lead medium complexity projects, and develop practical engineering solutions for productivity and capacity improvements.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze complex data to define current state and inform continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to optimize operations and lead small to medium scope projects
- Perform time and motion studies and use predetermined time systems to identify gaps and improve labor standards
- Lead Standard Work efforts with operations and continuous improvement teams
- Create AutoCAD layouts for space planning and process design
- Analyze methods for optimal operations and propose alternatives for processes equipment and systems
- Work with technical documentation including architectural mechanical electrical and software with guidance
- Collaborate with operations product management and other partners to deliver data driven solutions
- Utilize project management methodologies to manage medium complexity projects
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience in supply chain distribution or fulfillment environment desired
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD simulation and SQL queries highly desired
- Strong understanding of industrial engineering discipline processes and tools
- Experience performing time and motion studies and using predetermined time systems
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with senior leadership
- Developing skills in discrete simulation and capacity analysis
