Job Description

Summary

As an Industrial Engineer 2 in Supply Chain at Nordstrom, you will play a vital role in supporting engineered labor standards, labor management systems, and process design and optimization across our supply chain network. You will collaborate closely with fulfillment and distribution center leadership to ensure labor standards are accurate and aligned with operational best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development, validation, and maintenance of engineered labor standards using time studies and historical data.
  • Collaborate with operations and workforce management teams to integrate labor standards into Labor Management Systems.
  • Conduct performance audits and observations to identify deviations from standards and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead the development and rollout of standard work documents to support process standard adoption.
  • Collect data and perform complex data analysis to drive continuous improvement ideas and projects.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to optimize and provide supply chain solutions.
  • Utilize AutoCAD layouts to support warehouse travel calculations.
  • Perform machine speed testing using radar devices.
  • Work with operations and product management to deliver data-driven insights.
  • Manage labor standards refreshes using project management methodologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Experience with Supply Chain Distribution/Fulfillment environments desired.
  • Strong knowledge of engineered labor standards and time study techniques.
  • On-site presence required for time and motion studies.
  • Position requires 50%+ travel.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SQL, and UMT/Labor Pro highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Passion for using data to improve operational performance.
